Co-developed by Christopher Germer, PhD & Kristin Neff, PhD, MSC is an evidence-based 8-week course that teaches participants how to treat themselves as someone they love. Learn skills needed for greater awareness in the present moment of your own distress and suffering, in order to respond with kindness and wisdom. Research shows that self-compassion is correlated with greater happiness and well-being, decreased anxiety and depression, as well as healthier lifestyle habits.

Mindful Compassion During Difficult Times

During this time of uncertainty, I am offering a 4-Week course "Mindful Compassion During Difficult Times", instead of the 8-Week MSC Course. This 4-Week course will focus on how to bring mindfulness and compassion into our lives, so we can develop more kindness, stability and ground during difficult times. Join us as we learn tools to bring mindfulness and compassion into our everyday lives, so we can develop more kindness, stability and ground during difficult times. Learn to stay present with emotions and experiences, while opening our hearts to offering ourselves and others the kindness and care we all deserve.

No experience is necessary, all levels are welcome.
Please arrive on time; wear comfortable clothes; have water, a blanket, pen & paper for notes, and a yoga mat (optional). A space that allows for privacy during the class is recommended.


Schedule: 

Week 1 – Learn how mindfulness and being in the present moment can support you when you are dealing with difficult emotions or events. We will practice formally and informally, to discover your own ways to support yourselves.

Week 2 – Identify ways in which you are clinging and pushing away pleasant and unpleasant emotions and experiences. We will work with locating emotions in the body and creating space for them to soften. 

Week 3 – Learn how compassion can support you and those around you during difficult times. We will work with difficult emotions and give ourselves permission to treat ourselves as we would a dear friend -  with loving, connected, presence. 

Week 4 – Learn ways in which you can give and receive compassion, as well as offer loving kindness to yourself and others.

9:30am - Arriving Meditation 
9:45am - Group Sharing 
10:55am - Talking Points 
10:05am - Mindful Movement 
10:25am - Meditation based on Talking Points 
10:45am - Pair/Group Sharing 
10:55am - Closing Poem/One word shares
11:00am - End
Follow up email with reminders, links, poems and home practices.
